There was excitement in the air as, just after sunrise on a beautiful December morning, forty three members of the U3A Vall del Pop assembled in Jalon to start our special Christmas break in Nerja, Southern Spain.
Over 80 members traveled to Moraia for their Christmas party at Casa Lili, which is a restaurant now becoming popular for its lovely food and atmosphere. The entrance to the restaurant was a wonderful Christmas scene, which certainly helped to get us all in the Christmas spirit.
On December 5th a coach-load of U3A VdP members set off on a very successful and enjoyable Christmas Shopping jolly to Murcia, where IKEA and the Nueva Condominia Centro Commercial were their targets. The weather was warm as a summer’s day in the UK making it so very pleasant to walk around in.
On Thursday 11th October, 39 U3A members left Jalon on a trip to Ayora Honey Festival in the Valencia Region. We made a quick stop for coffee just outside Villena before proceeding to Virtudes Wine and Olive Oil Bodega, Villena.
Nearly 50 U3A members thoroughly enjoyed their trip to the All Saints Fair (Feria de Todos los Santos) in Cocentaina; a fair that has been running every year since 1346. Arriving at 11:00 am and leaving at 4:30 pm meant we were walking around for five and half hours, but there was plenty to see and do to fill that time.
