It is 50 years in July since the first Moon Landing and “FIRST MAN” is a riveting story of NASA's mission to get a man on the moon, focusing on the years 1961-1969. The film explores the sacrifices and the cost - to Neil Armstrong and to the nation - of one of the most dangerous missions in history. It delves deep into the man behind the giant leap; a quiet and stoic person struggling to cope with a personal tragedy who becomes one of the best-known names in the world. Ryan Gosling (La La Land) stars as Neil Armstrong whilst Claire Foy (The Crown, Breathe, Girl in the Spider’s Web) is excellent as Janet, his wife, who tries to support him whilst maintaining a normal family home.
