Rocketman follows the life of Reg Dwight from child prodigy to the living legend that is Elton John. He transforms himself from an unassuming keyboard player to become a member of pop royalty with all the excesses of life, glitz and glamour we now know him for. Taron Egerton (Kingsman and Eddie the Eagle) leads as Elton, with support from Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot and Film Stars don’t die in Liverpool) as lyricist Bernie Taupin, and Richard Madden (Bodyguard) as Elton’s manager John Reid. The film is directed by Dexter Fletcher who also directed the music showcases of The Proclaimers’ Sunshine on Leith and Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody
