Computing & Technology

This group is currently inactive

The U3A Computing/IT/Technology group has been running since the start of the Val del Pop U3A – 11 years this autumn.

Since then we have moved forward from Windows 95 and XP to a plethora of devices, tablets, phones, media devices all with different control systems (Apple, Windows, Android etc).

Things are not standing still; we now have alarm systems, TVs, security cameras and even refrigerators adding to the list of items requiring an internet link. We have regularly demonstrated features and systems in a light-hearted social group. However, with all the different permutations and varied user abilities it has become difficult to interest everyone on a regular basis.

We intend to provide a group more like a surgery, in a bar or café, giving help and advice (but not repairing broken equipment) and suggesting where to find further help and services.

We hope this will allow a social group to continue on a self-help basis. Any and all input from members will be greatly appreciated.
