U3A Vall del Pop Are Coming Home

With the further relaxation of restrictions, on the size of social gatherings, the Vall del Pop U3A are very pleased to be able to announce that Murla Ayuntamiento has given permission for our future General Assemblies to be held again in their Polivalent hall. So please be sure to attend our ‘Coming Home’ GA on Thursday 7th October, when John Hopwood will be presenting a talk on the history of Woolworths and the Woolworth family.

Also this week, Bob and Sandra Welham visited the Cruz Roja drop-in centre in Calpe , where they were greeted by one of its representatives. She was delighted to receive so many bags of baby goods [nappies, milk, wipes etc], which had been received at our EGM in response to Cruz Roja’s call for urgent help in providing goodies for young and needy families in the community. At the EGM we were amazed with the amount of donations that the members brought to the meeting. Not only did they bring the ‘goods’ but also raised 100€. One kind couple brought along a nearly new cot and high chair, which was thankfully received and will certainly be put to good use.
On behalf of Cruz Roja we would like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped with this very worthwhile appeal. What a great effort by everyone.
