Ladies At Lunch

Busy Month

Whilst some 40 members headed to Cordoba, for the flower festival, the remaining members of the Vall del Pop U3A had a busy week with a multitude of events to keep us out of mischief, in addition to all our usual U3A skill group activities.

Queen Tribute at Benidorm Palace

Sunday 14th May saw a coachload of some 50 young-at-heart members off to see The Bohemians perform their tribute show to Queen. Benidorm Palace was packed, but we managed to finish our pie/fish & chip supper before the show started so we could fully watch and enjoy, what we were advised was “the world’s most exciting Queen tribute band”, and they certainly lived up to their billing – visually, vocally and performance.

We were entertained to all of Queen’s classics, and a few of their lesser-known songs, to which we were invited to join in and sing the chorus. What a night – a wonderful performance bringing back lots of memories.

Ladies at Lunch

Tuesday, 16th May had some 40 ladies at The Shack, in Jalon, where Mark, the owner, rose to the challenge and provided them with a specially designed three course menu with a half bottle of wine. The food selections were delicious with interesting flavours, great service, and of course the fabulous company of all the ladies.

Their next lunch will be Tuesday, 20th June, at Restaurante La Piscina, Parcent, which will be their last until September.
