Trivia & Bingo Night at Pepe's
Last week new members, Liz and Alistair Macleod, hosted a fun evening of Trivia (Quiz) and Bingo at Pepe’s restaurant in Alcalai. This was a new event for Vall del Pop U3A but 40 members decided to test their brains on the trivia quiz, working in teams of four, and their luck with the bingo. We all agreed that a simple meal choice of chicken & chips or fish & chips would be good, and I have to say that Pepe's team did us proud.
Liz started the quiz with 25 questions of general knowledge, some easy but one or two had us scratching our heads, with lots of laugher. The photo table quiz and the nursery rhythms meant that many of us had absolutely no idea, but we battled on with inspired guesses, some causing even greater amusement. The winning team consisted of Sally & Peter Ellis, Derek Woolley and Barbara Connolly. Well done to that team.
After the quiz we got down to playing bingo and many of us were trying to cover more than one card.... not as easy task as I used to remember. So eyes down, look in and we were off. It was obvious that some members had no experience of how to play whilst others were easily managing lots of cards. We had the usual calling of legs eleven, two fat ladies and two little ducks – some of which caused a bit of thought from those of us less familiar with the game, it was certainly a trip down memory lane.
Everyone enjoyed the food, laughter and a big thank was given to Liz and Alistair for all their hard work in organising the quiz questions and compering the evening. Thanks also were given to Pepe's team for their lovely food and good service.
We are now planning a very different type of quiz so watch this space.
