
Located in the middle basin of the Vinalopó River it has been an area of transit and communication between the Spanish plains. It has important quarries and mines of marble, limestone, silica, clay and gypsum. It is a major centre of the marble industry as well as spice production It is renowned for the wonderful grape harvests. Lots to see and do.
