Founder Member's Good-bye

Ken Grant, a founder member and the first President of the Vall del Pop U3A when it formed in 2007, took the opportunity at the Assembly on Thursday 7th March to address the membership on his last meeting before returning to the UK. Ken recalled the many friends he and his wife had made through the U3A, the interesting trips they had undertaken and the pleasure he had in leading the IT Group.

Sad Loss

Elizabeth 'Bill' Bradley
Passed Away on Wednesday 13th March.

The funeral was at Denia Crematorium on Friday 15th March.

We lost a very special lady. Many of the older members of our association will remember Bill. A lady with a fighting spirit and quick wit. Bill was quite small but she lit up the room when she walked in.

Bill was an avid gardener and belonged to a number of U3A groups.

Our thought and prayers are with Ian her son and Jackie her daughter.

Lively General Assembly

On Thursday 7th February the U3A Vall del Pop members attended a lively general assembly at the Centre Polivalent in Murla. Before the meeting started the room was buzzing with members renewing their membership, booking trips with the TCET, discussing group activity options and enjoying coffee and cakes, arranged by the Goodwill Charity Team and their volunteer cake makers {more next week - hopefully}.

Brexit and your Need To Know

With less than 50 days to go before Brexit it is important to bring to your attention the advice given below in the ‘Handout’ provided by the British Consulate at an open meeting held in Alcalali just prior to Christmas.

Wine Tasting

Wine Tasting at Parcent Bodega

On Wednesday 23rd January 18 members of the U3A Vall del Pop Wine Tasting group braved another cold and windy night to attend a wine tasting at the family-run Parcent bodega. The bodega was started in 2002 by Armando and Nuria Moras, brother and sister, where they focus on producing quality rather than quantity by selecting and hand picking their grapes at the optimum point of maturity.

Hill Walking

Monday and Thursday Hills Walking Groups

As we enter the second year of the Monday Group, and the fifth year of the Thursday Group, this might be a good time to review progress so far.
