Dear Members,
Due to uncertain times regarding the Coronavirus, the decision has been made to postpone all TCET events and trips until the situation is resolved .

Those members wishing to renew their membership may do so online, but an extension period will also be granted until the situation is clarified and we resume normal activity.

The next General Assembly will be in September

The Government advice on wearing masks, social distancing and use of sanitizer should still be observed

Important notice

With the non-availability of the Multiusos in Alcalali, with effect from Week commencing 16th March Keep Fit classes will be held as follows

  • Monday Class 10.00 – 11.00 Start Monday 16th March 2020
  • Thursday Class 10.00 – 11.00 Start Thursday 19th March 2020
  • Venue Poliesportiu Complex Xalo ( next to the Pensionistas Hall)

Come and join our latest class
Stretching in the morning gets your circulation off to a good start

The U3A Vall del Pop Charity Fundraising Team (The Goodwill Team) organises events during the year.   

With Jacintha’s help, this new class is offered to YOU, keeping you fit, whilst at the same time raising funds for the U3A Charities.

You can now join this latest gentle morning stretch class, where Jacintha will get you ready for the new day.

It is a great way to help manage low back pain and arthritis,

improve posture, reduce the risk of falls and increase energy levels.

The class is gentle and includes both static and dynamic stretches, Jacintha will ensure it is suitable for everyone and several options will be given for the stretching to suit all abilities.

You can feel calm and relaxed but energized at the same time.

Classes will be on the last Monday in the month (except the first one which is March 2). If you want to join, please wear comfortable clothing and bring a mat.

Keep Fit

New members are always welcome

We have now started Keep Fit classes with a focus on exercises beneficial to our age range and open to both men and women.

The following information is intended to give you an insight into where, when and what will happen to help you decide if a class is for you!

Cost and What You Need

COST PER SESSION Euros 4 per person

You would need comfortable suitable footwear i.e. trainers or something similar, a towel and, most importantly, a bottle of water.

Jacintha, The Keep Fit teacher, will give you a form to fill in before you join the class in order to know more about any medical issues eg Back, Hips and Knees.

What to expect

As you grow older, an active lifestyle becomes more important than ever to your health.

Regular exercise is good for your mind, mood and memory.

The exercises in the Keep Fit class will improve your strength, flexibility and posture, which in turn help with balance, coordination and reducing the risk of falls.

The class starts with a warming-up, followed by a mixture of low impact cardio and standing exercises. In the second part of the class we will do energetic chair exercises. After a complete body toning we will relax down. You can do all the exercises at your own pace. The music of the sixties, seventies, eighties and your favourite hits of today, will lift you up. This class is leaving you tension free and rejuvenated. General fitness level. 4€ a class. Fruit treat every class!
