Jalon Xmas Fayre
Our Goodwill Team has had a busy year raising funds for local charities by organising events including concerts with the OK band , 20/20 band , Make Up Demo with Afternoon Tea, Fashion Sale and so many, many more.
At our U3A General Assemblies they have received so much support from our members with the Pre-Loved Table, Book Stall , the very popular sausage roll and cake sales. All these events raise funds which are accumulated throughout the year and which will be given to local charities at the AGM. Every euro raised is going to helping these charities, which we know need all the help we can give them.
Their most recent event was supporting Jalon Valley Help at their recent Christmas Fayre, at the rastro site in Jalon, with a range of games including spin the wheel, Bob's balls and the selling of Christmas gifts. The weather was sunny and warm and the team had a great time and lots of fun and sparkle in setting up their stall with Christmas goodies and the games stalls with festive Christmas displays. The team looked equally colourful in their pink, or probably fiscia – but I am a man so how would I know!!, shirts and festive headwear. The warm sun brought smiles to their faces, and encouraged lots of visitors to come to the Fayre and try their luck at winning some lovely prizes.
The event was a tremendous success and raised well over 200€ for the charity fund.
The U3A Goodwill Team want to send very big thanks to all our members who have helped to organise the Christmas General Assembly, Polivalent Murla on 8th December, where there will be lots of entertainment, fun games, raffle and lots of prizes and of course plenty of cava so do come along, bringing your plate of food for sharing.
The Goodwill Team’s plans are now well advanced for next years events and they are all looking forward to having fun whilst helping others.
