Caprice at the Black Apple

Caprice Choir Entertain The U3A

On Saturday 11th February members of the U3A Vall del Pop and the Goodwill team, as well as members of the public, were delighted to attend a wonderful concert by Caprice, a choir of very talented ladies, at the former Black Apple in Jalon in aid of the Goodwill fund. We were entertained for two hours with a wide range of popular songs from an original version of Auld Lang Syne accompanied by the flute to jazz/swing, 1950s/60s sounds right through to modern day. Many of the songs had us wanting to sing along, including a fun Abba medley.

The choir was lead by their very talented musical director, Aileen Lightfoot, who also played the violin for two songs, and they were accompanied on the piano by Kirsty Glen, who treated us to the most haunting and beautiful rendition of Auld Lang Syne in her Scottish tongue. There was so much talent to be heard with beautiful harmonies, solos, musical accompaniment that we didn't want the concert to end.

We were then presented with an amazing donation of €400 for the U3A Goodwill fund which we were delighted to receive. We are so grateful to all the ladies for their kindness and generosity as well as giving up their time to perform for us. Thank you so much.

There was also a collection for the Turkey and Syria earthquake victims which will be passed to Caritas to process.

Caprice will be holding another concert in the Autumn and we strongly recommend everyone to come along to hear them if you can.
